History

The name Lucky O’Hara has been around for decades. Since 1979 it has been owned and operated by Sternhagen Thrills Inc.

When they took over, the Sternhagen Thrills family decided to approach the show as family oriented entertainment. Today, that concept still remains the theme of our show.

Our crews are experienced, some having been with us since we have owned the show. They come in and handle everything - registration, inspection, judging, announcing, and payoff.

We have a very professional show, and we hope you will give us the chance to help you make some money for your fair.

Your Local people are the Stars!!

Your friends and neighbors come out to compete for the honor of top demo derby driver. They in turn, bring their friends and family out to cheer them on. So they fill your grandstand, and go to the fair before and after the show.

In addition, Lucky O’Hara sends out letters and schedules of all their derbies for the season to all of the preceding year’s drivers. Many of these drivers will come to several of our derbies which means they bring additional people to your fair, both in the grandstand and on the midway.

In a given season, we have several hundred entries of which approximately 25% are repeats.

We offer variety in our derbies too!!

Compact cars and trucks have become a fun new option.
Since 1996, we have run a heat or two of compact cars and or trucks at most derbies, if there is enough interest by the drivers. They prove to be a lot of fun for the drivers, and lots of fun to watch.

What Do We Offer You:

Lucky O’Hara provides colorful posters for the fair boards to display and circulate. We also provide 1st, 2nd & 3rd place trophies, as well as a sportsmanship trophy to each fair that wants them. Prize money is also provided for each event.

In addition, Lucky O’Hara registers and inspects all cars and trucks at each event.

Our crew sets the track, judges and flags the race. We even bring our own announcers.

We carry public liability insurance with limits of $1,000,000.00

We will provide rules to each sponsoring organization or fair to give to any prospective drivers. In addition, we send rules to each of the drivers that competed the previous year. Starting in 2007 our rules will be available on our web site: www.luckyohara.com.
